The Lilies of Nihon Odori - Here comes the Hydrangea too!

Is life getting you down?

Is work getting a bit stressful?

Are you starting to think that there's got to be more to life than eat, sleep, work, repeat?

Well what one needs to do is go to Nihon Odori boulevard in Yokohama and enjoy the beautiful lilies that are just now starting to bloom.

The sight of these flowers will put a smile on your face, a spring in your step and will take your mind off the problems of the world.

Reds, yellows, whites and orange! Oh, there's pink lilies too! The yellow ones are my favorite.

These flowers are amazing.

The pollen on this one looks like red hot chili powder.

A walk along the boulevard is or can be romantic!

Bring a date, hold hands, smile - let the lilies work their magic.

By-the-way, I used a Sigma Sd Quattro H camera and a Sigma 35mm f1.4 "Art" lens to take all of today's pictures.

Time to move on and check out the hydrangea in Yamashita park.

It's such a nice day I'm taking the long way around to get to the park. Passing by Zou-no-hana.

Next is a stroll around Osanbashi pier.

A nice view of the Yokohama bay bridge from the end of the pier.

From the other side of the pier one can see Yamashita park as well as the Yokohama marine tower.

First peek and the colors are amazing.

It looks like a hundred delicate butterflies huddled together.

The only thing bad about hydrangeas is that when they start blooming it means the rainy season is about to start.

Just beautiful!

See what I mean? The flowers put a smile on everyones face.

Thanks for stopping by!
Mike
