Yokosuka - The Seaside City Paradise

Today I'm sharing some images of beautiful Yokosuka City just after the recent typhoon Phanfone (funny name for a typhoon) passed over us. About an hour after the all clear was announced we went out for a walk to see what we would see and it was a sight to see!

The entrance to the "Fishing Park", yes that's the real name of this park.

It was designed and built to be very fisherman friendly.

So soon after a typhoon and the anglers are already out trying to hook one.

I see the fishing boats survived the typhoon quite well.

The seawall at Mabori Kaigan is an excellent place for walking or jogging.

On a nice day this is as good as it gets.

We are not alone.

The road that runs parallel to the seawall is lined with palm trees and gives one the impression that we're in a tropical paradise.

Safety is important!

A look back toward the city. On a clear day a person can view Mt. Fuji from here.

I like palm trees; it's like being on Miami Vice.

Looks like somebody doesn't want their wind surfer anymore.

She lights up my life!

Fresh spring water from the tap at Hashirimizu

A beautiful view at Hashirimizu beach

The boats are hauled out until next Summer

It seems like there's always that one boat that can't fall in with the others.

Here's a nod to Dave Powell at Shoot Tokyo.

It's hard to believe that only a few hours ago this was the scene of tumultuous high gusting winds and a heavy downpour of rain.

And, now it's so peaceful. Mother nature does as she pleases.

After walking for about three hours I was tired, thirsty, and a little hungry. So, we hopped on a bus and headed back to town.

Ah yes, nothing like going to the Izakaya "Otako" near Yokosuka Chuo train station for some refreshments. The perfect way to end an unusual day.
Todays camera gear: Panasonic Lumix GX7 camera, 15mm, 25mm and 42.5mm lenses.

Thanks for stopping by!
